But what happens after Geno's senior season is over, and all is said and done. Who knows where WVU will end up after the highly anticipated season is over? Could Geno be entering the 2013 draft as the top QB on the board? It all depends what numbers he puts up, which is expected to be pretty darn good. At least WVU fans hope so, but what is Geno's future in the NFL. What can he do to strive in the grueling, hard hitting, NFL and have his name in the lights with the best of them?

Geno needs to absolutely have his numbers  sky rocket in 2012. If you think Geno's 4385 yards will cut it, just ask Case Keenum who threw for over 5600 and didn't even get drafted this past year. I have no doubt Geno will light it up in 2012 and why shouldn't he?

But a major way Geno can strive in the NFL is the offensive system he is put into.

Wherever Geno goes he will make an immediate impact because of his ability to adapt to what he is given. For example, when Dana Holgorsen came to the EER's in the off season of 2010, he had took three days to install his offense and by three games into the season, Geno had already over 1,000 yards before the "big dogs" of the SEC came to town (LSU).

So, learning a new offensive system is obviously not a big deal for Geno, but I think the way for Geno to reach his full potential is to be put into a West Coast type offense.

A west coast offense deals with a lot of timing which is what Holgorsen's offense is all about. Even though a west coast offense doesn't necessarily deal with high tempo, no huddle offense such as Holgorsen would run, Geno has already experienced a medium paced, not so fast, offense under Bill Stewart and former offensive coordinator Jeff Mullen.

Another thing Geno is going to have to use is his athleticism, and his ability to run. Smith is very underrated when it comes to this, and people seem to forget he can really scramble and gain yards when needed no matter what way he gets them such as in the Orange Bowl. You saw Smith rush for a touchdown and a few first downs, and those yards weren't very easy.

Geno is a playmaker and I have no doubt he will strive in the NFL wherever he goes. I'm looking forward to seeing a WVU athlete represent in the NFL ever since the most recent one, Adam "Pac man" Jones, which offseason actions tell a different stories now of days. Can't wait to see what he can do and how he will perform at the next level.
